Why DC Fandome Disappointed Superman Fans

DC Fandome, just like last year, was an highly publicized event for DC fans. The entire event is meant to showcase the latest offerings from DC WB. This encompasses everything from movies, tv shows, comics, and more. 

Fans of the franchise certainly did get a tonne of sneak peeks, behind-the-scenes looks, and even full fledged trailers. Most notably, the second trailer for The Batman wowed fans and hyped up expectations for the movie.

Other live-action offerings that made fans excited was the sneak peeks at The Flash movie, Aquaman 2, and Black Adam. However, there was one heavyweight who was missing from these movie trailer offerings- Superman. 

And this made fans upset. 

One can easily understand why The Big Blue getting sidelined might hurt fans. After all, he is the one who started the superhero genre, and now there's talks about changing the hierarchy of power in the DC universe, but the kryptonian being who is being challenged seems to be missing from the action.  

Why Was Superman Missing From DC Fandome?

Now, it would be wrong to say that Superman was completely absent from the DC Fandome celebrations. In notable Superman news we got to know that DC has updated his motto from Truth, Justice, and The American Way to Truth, Justice, and A Better Future. 

Personally, this update is a much needed adjustment to reflect the changing times of modern society. Speaking of changing times, Jim Lee himself confirmed the new Superman, Clark's son, Jon Kent's bisexuality and assured fans that they want to keep on being progressive.

Apart from this, on the comics front, we got to know about the ongoing Warworld saga. On the animated front, we got to see some stills from the upcoming animated show titled My Adventures with Superman. 

However, on the live-action front, we were only left with the Superman and Lois CW series. Season 1 of the show received rave reviews from fans and critics alike and now fans are waiting for the second season. 

But, we didn't get any glimpse or information about the upcoming season 2. Instead, we got a measly behind-the-scenes look at the Kent house. To add insult to injury, there was no update on the two Superman movies that were reported on by various reliable news sources. 

Many fans are also waiting for Henry Cavill to come back and reprise his role as DCEU's Superman. But right now, WB hasn't confirmed Cavill's involvement in any of the future DCEU movies. As such, fans frustrations are mounting. 

Will We Get More Superman Information In The Coming Months?

Right now, the answer is maybe. Ideally, at the very least, we should get more information regarding the two planned Superman movies first. 

But as of now, it looks like Superman isn't that high on DC or WB's list. Maybe they are waiting for the right script or are simply burned out by him. Lets hope that it's the former and not the latter.
